Bill Irwin, Sr. died on Wednesday, March 1, 2006. He fought a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s and heart disease.
Bill was a wonderful Christian, husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Winona and Clyde Irwin; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Tevania Gilbreath Irwin, of Hixson; two daughters, Joy (Jim "Cotton") Swanson, of Graysville, GA, Kay (Tim) Morgan, of Soddy-Daisy; one son, William C. Irwin II and Bill Jones, of Fort Lauderdale, FL; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, the Rev. Ed (Rebecca) Irwin, of Nashville.
At Bill’s request, there will be no public visitation or services held.
A private family burial was held at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga, Dr. Steve Chardos who volunteered his time to sit with Bill, Burks United Methodist Church and the many friends and family for their support.
