Giddens, Alice Harshaw

Alice Harshaw Giddens, 97, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, April 22, 2006.

She was born July 1, 1908, to the late Joseph and Nancy Rogers in Lincoln County, TN. She was a member of People’s Baptist Tabernacle, worked as a secretary for Erlanger hospital, was a schoolteacher, former business owner and Avon representative.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, W.A. Harshaw and P.E. Giddens.

She is survived by her brother, Norman Rogers, of Rock Spring, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. John Carroll, the Rev. Darwin Smith and the Rev. James Helton officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday until service time at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.
