Dr. Delia Price
Dr. Delia Price, professor of education in Lee’s Helen DeVos College of Education, has been named winner of Lee University’s 2025 Excellence in Advising Award.
According to Lee University President Dr. Paul Conn, Dr. Price was selected from a large pool of nominees based on her consistently high ratings and glowing feedback in student evaluations. One student remarked, “Dr. Price is the absolute best. She’s knowledgeable in her field, but it’s also clear she truly cares about her students. I cannot thank her enough.”
Dr. Price joined Lee as a part-time faculty member in 2009, teaching in the Department of Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education. In 2013, she joined the full-time faculty of the Department of Health, Exercise Science, and Secondary Education.
“I am so honored and deeply humbled by this award and the precious words from my students,” said Dr. Price.
Dr. Price currently serves as a volunteer mentor to new teachers in surrounding districts and works with veteran teachers on special projects in order to stay well connected to the work in the K-12 environment. She earned her doctorate in leadership and professional practices from Trevecca Nazarene University, her master’s degree in administration and supervision from Trevecca Nazarene College, and her bachelor’s degree in secondary English education from Tennessee Temple University.
The Excellence in Advising Award is one of the three faculty excellence awards recognizing advising, scholarship, and teaching. The Excellence Awards are the highest honors presented to Lee faculty members. The recipient of the Excellence in Advising Award is chosen by a faculty committee, which reviews a three-year history of student advisor evaluation data, as well as other information provided by the nominating department chairs and deans.
Dr. Price was recognized for this award during the university’s spring commencement.
