David Heidt Stokes Swearingen, 79, of Memphis, died Saturday, July 15, 2006, in Chattanooga.
He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Swearingen was an advertising and marketing executive.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary B. Swearingen; daughters, Anne L. Swearingen, of Memphis, Dr. Lynn Swearingen, of Chattanooga, and Jane M. Swearingen-Tomer, of Los Angeles; grandchildren, Christopher T. Duty, Matthew T. Duty, Mary Allison Wright and John David Wright; and two great-granddaughters.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, at 11 a.m. at Memphis Funeral Home, Poplar Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
