Chattanooga Christian officials announced on Wednesday afternoon that Jim Arnold would succeed out going head basketball coach Eddie Salter next year.

For the past two seasons, Coach Arnold has served as the JV coach for the CCS Chargers. His previous coaching experiences range from the collegiate, to high school varsity to AAU basketball.

In 2001, he arrived at Bryan College as the coach of the Lady Lions and in that first year led them to their first NAIA national ranking (23rd) and to a 27-9 finish which proved to be the best turn-around in the school’s history (finishing 9-25 the previous year).

He was named the 2001 Appalachian Athletic Conference Coach of the Year by his coaching peers, and was named the 2001 NCCAA Mid-East Region Coach of the Year.

Interestingly enough, that stint as a college coach was a homecoming for Jim Arnold. During the 1997 season, he finished his playing years at Bryan College ranked 2nd in the nation (all colleges) in assists and earning All-American honors.

He also served as the Boys Varsity Basketball Coach for Orangewood Christian School in Orlando, Florida for four seasons where he led his teams to several regional playoff berths.

Currently Jim Arnold serves as the Assistant High School Principal and teaches two Bible classes at CCS.

“To have such a man of great character and integrity, combined with his basketball knowledge and experience to lead this program and to build upon the successes and rich basketball tradition laid by Coach Salter is truly a blessing," CCS principal Shawn Brower said. "Coach Arnold is known for his ability to develop wonderful godly relationships with his players as he develops not only their basketball game but also helps to shape them into men of godly character and integrity.”
