Jonathan Mark Arner, 32, of Chattanooga, died unexpectedly on Friday, Jan. 4, 2008.

Born in Phoenixville, Pa., Jonathan was a lifetime resident of the Chattanooga area. He attended Spalding Elementary, Collegedale Academy and Southern University and also Chattanooga State.

Jonathan enjoyed DJ work with WJTT, KixxFM, The Wall and 96.5 The Mountain known as Dakota Rivers. He was a member of Friends of the Zoo.

Jonathan was employed with Convergys Corporation, and had previously worked with Country Place Restaurant, Olive Garden, Chili’s and Brainerd Wal-Mart.

He is survived by his beloved companion, John Thomas; mother and her partner, Cheryl Arner and Dennis Watkins; father and stepmother, Jerome and Pam Arner; brother, Justin Arner, all of Chattanooga; stepbrother, Neal Caywood, Rock Spring; stepsister, Laura Owens; nephew, Hayden Romas, both of Collegedale; grandparents, Paul Arner, McDonald, Tenn., Beatrice Lloyd, Seaford, De., Daniel and Charlotte Becker, Laurel, De.; great-grandmother, Helen Adams, Federalsburg, Md.; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, in the chapel with Pastor Mark Bresee and Pastor LeClaire Litchfield officiating. Burial will be in Plowman Cemetery in Apison.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Monday at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Road.
