Elizabeth McCright To Head Chattanooga Housing Authority

  • Tuesday, December 16, 2008

The Chattanooga Housing Authority board on Tuesday voted to name Elizabeth McCright as executive director.

She was the chief operation officer when Bob Dull, the former executive director, departed.

She has been the top officer at the CHA since that time.

The board also designated John Coxwell, the chief financial officer, as treasurer.

In other action, Eddie Holmes was chosen for a new term as board chairman. Jim Sattler is again vice chairman.

The cash-strapped CHA is continuing to sell off its properties.

The board voted to make these properties available for sale:

The old Poss Homes site by I-24 to the rear of Howard School. Officials said the county schools had expressed an interest in the property, but that did not work out.

A 12-acre parcel at The Village in Alton Park.

Some apartments built in the 1970s on Fairmount and Gurley streets. Fairmount has 28 units and Gurly 24.
