David Tomme Hemphill, 51, of Chattanooga, died on Sunday, March 16, 2008.

He was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. David was self-employed as a painter, was a graduate of Brainerd High School class of 1974 and had attended Middle Tennessee State University.

He is survived by his daughter, Adrian Hemphill and her mother, Laura Tyndall of Chattanooga; stepdaughter, Blair Brannon of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Harper and John Thomas Black of Chattanooga; parents, Tom and Beverly Hemphill of Chattanooga; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Paula and Kermit McManus of Dalton, Ga., and Julie and Mike Thornburg of Chattanooga; niece and nephews, Kyle and Casey McManus and Caleb and Noah Thornburg.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist with Dr. Larry Schenk officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
