The assistant principal of Lakeview-Fort. Oglethorpe High School, Ron Arp, died Monday, apparently of a heart condition.
Mr. Arp had been at Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School since it opened in 1973, and had served as assistant principal for the past four years.
Although he had been a wrestling coach early in his career, his passion was teaching history. He was a fair but firm teacher who touched thousands of kids’ lives, school officials said.
Mr. Arp was involved with in the Fort Oglethorpe Kiwanis Club and the Key Club. He was a big Georgia Bulldogs fan and a big LFO Warrior fan.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Parkway Baptist Temple with Dr. David Sampson and Rev. Matt Hall officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be both past and present members of the Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe faculty and staff.

The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
