Shirley Helmes
Shirley Helmes, formerly of the Ringgold and Dalton area, died September 22, 2008, after fighting a battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.T. and Bertha Arp, and father-in-law, Cecil Helmes.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Donald Helmes; two daughters, Traci Hightower and Sandi Helmes Owensby; two grandchildren, Gage Hightower and Marlee Grace Owensby; one brother, J.T. Arp, two sisters, Virgina Hood and Carolyn Gibson; mother-in-law, Barbara Helmes, and step-mother-in-law, Susan Helmes; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a member if Bible Baptist Church in Pensacola, Fl., while attending Bible College.
Services are Monday at Bible Baptist in Pensacola. Interment will follow at Bay View Memorial with Trahan Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
