Speak Out with Missy Crutchfield on WUUQ Radio 97.3/99.3 FM—a brand new talk show experience airs on Sunday mornings at 9 beginning on Sunday.

Talk Show Host Missy Crutchfield will infuse her weekly radio shows with in-depth community interviews and creative “Voices” segments where listeners will hear from kids, teens, community activists, seniors, and others sharing their thoughts and ideas on life, community, and connecting to make a difference.

Ms. Crutchfield said, “This is more than just another talk show. Speak Out is about connecting, it’s about community. And it’s about sparking conversations. I look forward to taking this experience beyond the walls of the studios and really connecting. We will be hosting gatherings and facilitating dialogue online to keep the conversations and the creativity flowing. This is about creating a community that speaks out in a positive way.”

Ms. Crutchfield joined Mayor Ron Littlefield’s cabinet as administrator for the Department of Education, Arts & Culture on July 1, 2005. A Chattanooga native, she has served in positions of leadership in education and the media. Prior to heading EAC, Ms. Crutchfield was assistant to the Chancellor at the UTC. She has served as vice president for Institutional Advancement at Chattanooga State Technical Community College. In both positions she was liaison between the institution and the community, seeking out and creating opportunities in the print and electronic media to strengthen the positions of both schools in the greater Chattanooga area.

Ms. Crutchfield has also worked as a television producer, reporter and anchor, as well as a radio producer and anchor. In the mid-1990s she served as executive director for Chattanooga Venture, a nonprofit organization that headed up the first community visioning process that sparked grassroots civic involvement in Chattanooga’s revitalization. She has enjoyed a long relationship with the arts, and she is widely recognized for her work to improve the quality of life in Chattanooga.

She is the founder of Remember Your Dream, an arts incubator program that reaches out to youth at risk.

Ms. Crutchfield is the founder and author of “Sisters Speak Out”—a community outreach program and three-act play addressing issues surrounding domestic violence, and means of prevention. Ms. Crutchfield enjoys public service and believes the arts can be a powerful force for social good.
