Jerry Nathaniel Holt, 59, of Fairmount, Ga., died on Monday, March 22, 2010 at the Gordon Hospital in Calhoun, Ga.
Jerry was born July 25, 1950 in Perry, Ga. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt turkey and deer. He was a very hard worker. Jerry was employed at Hale Ceilings and Walls, Inc. Jerry proudly served his country during the Vietnam in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his father, Victor Nathaniel Holt; a brother, Paul Raymond Holt; and his father-in-law, William Mulkey.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Beverly Holt of the residence; sons and daughters-in-law, Heath and April Holt, and Eric and Rhiannon Holt; daughters and sons-in-law, Brooke and Rodney Huskins of Fairmount, and Beth and Andrew Swancy of Calhoun; grandchildren, Dylan Huskins, Dawson Huskins, Madeline Mattie Swancy and one on the way, Sindal Jerryn Huskins; mother, Beatrice Hale Holt of Fairmount; brothers, William J. Bill Holt, Charles Holt, Tim Holt all of Fairmount and David Holt of Calhoun; sisters, Martha Childers of Fairmount and Rose Mary Burns of Chatsworth; mother-in-law, Marcell Mulkey of Fairmount; cousin and very special friend, Billy Hale of Acworth, Ga.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Jerry Nathaniel Holt will be held Thursday, March 25, at 11 a.m. at the Salacoa Baptist Church in Cherokee County, with the Reverend Gary Henson officiating. Music and singing will be by Sally Jones. Pallbearers will be Jackie Hancock, David Hancock, Anthony Moss, Larry Green, Gary Crittenden and Sixtoe Gutierrez. Military graveside rites will be provided by the American Legion Post #112.
The family will receive friends at the Fairmount Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home all day Wednesday, March 24.
