Urban Rocks Climbing Gym Hosts a Teacher’s Appreciation Night

June 3rd, 2010

  • Friday, May 28, 2010

The only indoor sport climbing gym in Chattanooga wishes to congratulate all teachers on the end of another school year. With the school year finally at an end, Urban Rocks would like to show their support to all Chattanooga area teachers by teaching them something new... the exciting sport of indoor rock climbing! All teachers are invited to the climbing gym for a teacher's appreciation night.
Any teacher to show up at Urban Rocks Climbing Gym on June 3rd anytime between 3 pm – 10 pm will be set up with everything they need to learn how to safely rock climb for free. This night of climbing includes entrance to the gym, rental gear, and a belay lesson (a class in which Urban Rocks staff will teach basic rope management and the proper safety knots for climbing).
This event applies to all teachers: K - 12, University professors, public school teachers and private school teachers. All participants will be asked to verify teaching status to receive free admittance and lesson!
It is not required to come with a climbing partner. Belay lessons will be running in 40-minute blocks with the last lesson beginning at 8pm. Participants should wear active clothing that allows for good range of motion. After the belay lesson, all teachers are welcome to climb with other participants until 10pm.
