Principals Named For Seven Whitfield County Schools

Principals were named and staff members at Whitfield County Schools were moved to cover vacancies and to continue serving student needs all over the school district.

"These principals have the leadership skills to continue building the capacity for leadership in others," Superintendent Danny Hayes said. "We are excited about the new possibilities each principal will bring to their students, teachers, support staff, and their school's community."

The moves include:

- Robyn Baggett will move from her role as director of Teaching and Learning to principal OF Valley Point Middle School.
- Principal Joe Barnett is moving from Beaverdale Elementary to New Hope Middle School.
- Assistant Principal Tami Dodd is moving from Tunnel Hill Elementary to Antioch Elementary.
- Assistant Principal Ben Hunt is moving from Eastbrook Middle School to Eastside Elementary.
- Principal Lisa Jones is moving from Antioch Elementary to Varnell Elementary.
- Principal George Kopcsak is moving from New Hope Middle School to Eastbrook Middle.
- Assistant Principal Cheri Mahan is moving from Westside Middle School to Beaverdale Elementary.
- Assistant Principal Chris Parker is moving from North Whitfield Middle School to Valley Point Elementary.

The placements announced were preceded by the placement of high school principals announced in April. Those changes include:

- Principal Britt Adams moved from Valley Point Middle School to Northwest High School.
- Principal Brian Satterfield moved from Eastbrook Middle School to Southeast Whitfield High School.
- Principal Phillip Brown moved from Whitfield Career Academy to prepare Coahulla Creek High School for opening in fall 2011.
- Assistant Principal Tim Fleming was promoted to principal OF the Career Academy.
