Martha High Baggett Neira died on July 4, 2010, in Milton, Florida, at the age of 92.
Mrs. Neira was of the Baptist faith. During her long life and career, she was a secretary for Clifton Hills Baptist Church, sales person for Miller Brothers in downtown Chattanooga, school teacher in Rossville, secretary for East Lake Baptist Church, legal secretary in Miami, artist and teacher of oil painting and calligraphy in Chattanooga.
Mrs. Neira was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Rafael Jaggar Neira, her parents Kate (Holt) High and Lester High of Chattanooga, her sister Jimmie (High) Gagliano and her brother Robert King High, the former mayor of Miami.
Survivors include her daughter, Katherine (Haggett) Johnson, and son-in-law, Raymond Johnson; two grandsons, Richard Johnson and Brian Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Megann and Jordan; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins; and two very special friends who mourn her passing, Mrs. Bobbie Lupton and Alvada Gardenhire.
Visitation will be at Brainerd Hills Church of God on Friday, July 9, from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
The service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
