Here is a schedule of events at Cloudland Canyon State Park:
Dec. 23 and 30: Enjoy a full day of hiking on the Bear Creek Trail at Cloudland Canyon State Park. Meet at 10 a.m. at the Backcountry Parking Lot. Cost is $20 per person. Bring a daypack with lunch, water, a change of socks (we have to cross the creek) and trekking poles if you have them.
Dec. 24 and 31: Wild Cave Tour at 10 a.m. and an Introduction to Caving Trip at 2 p.m. A great thing to do with visiting family.
Jan. 1: First Day Hike to the Waterfalls at Cloudland Canyon State Park. Meet at 1 p.m. at the Interpretive Center. Cost is $5 per person.
Experience the thrill of a wild cave on a G3 adventure at Cloudland Canyon State Park. Choose from the following January tours:
· Introduction to Caving- The perfect tour for beginners who are unsure of the underground environment. Guides will direct you through a crawl space, direct your attention to cave formations and cave critters, and walk with you in an underground river. $20 per participant. Ages 6 and up. Saturdays in January at 2 p.m.
· Wild Cave Tour- A two hour adventure perfect for families, groups, and adventure seekers who want to get muddy, wet, and climb on rocks. You must be able to crawl, stoop, balance, climb, and wade into cold water. $30 per participant. Ages 6 and up. Saturdays (10 a.m.) and Wednesdays (4 p.m.) in January.
· Wild Cave Adventure- Ready for more adventure? Our guides will take a back seat to allow you the freedom of exploring all the side passages of a cave. Tours are four hours in length and can travel over one mile underground. Guides will be there to offer assistance, educate you on the geology and animals, ensure your safety, and direct you out of the cave. $50 per participant. Ages 12 and up. Sundays and Wednesdays in January at 10 a.m.
Group Tour- schedule your own private adventure for birthday parties, scouts, youth groups, or large families. Price is $300 per group for a two-hour adventure. Participant numbers are limited. Call for more information.
