Christ In Youth Presents MOVE Across The Nation

Lee University To Host Event

  • Monday, July 18, 2011

Close to 4,000 students from 20 different states across the country will converge on the campus of Lee University this week and next for MOVE, a week-long, staged event exclusively for high school students.

Produced and directed by Christ in Youth, a non-profit organization based in Joplin, Missouri, MOVE offers five days of learning from riveting speakers and captivating worship bands.

With headquarters in Joplin, Mo., CIY was affected by the recent EF5 tornado. Five CIY employees lost their homes in the deadly storm. Even in the midst of this extreme loss, the staff at CIY never lost sight of the task at hand and worked hard to make sure that this event would still happen as scheduled.

At MOVE, students are called to be Kingdom workers. They are challenged to not only grow in their faith in Christ, but to also show the love of Christ to the world around them. Whether the students are simply nicer to their teachers in school or choose to work on ending world hunger, MOVE works hard to motivate students to make a difference no matter where they are or what they do.

In the past, MOVE has raised up students who feed 500 families on Thanksgiving, build a well with clean water in Zambia, Africa, work to stop sex-trafficking in Cambodia, and clothe the homeless in their community.

Students at MOVE not only learn and worship together but also spend quality time with their church youth group, discovering ways that God will use them to be a greater help to the world. They will also explore Cleveland and the surrounding area for recreational activities each day.

MOVE is a five-day high school-only event held all over the country, designed to amplify the call of Christ on student lives to become Kingdom workers. Located on college campuses across the nation, MOVE provides a program for 25,000 high school students every summer.

For nearly 40 years, Christ in Youth has been providing events, missions opportunities and resources to advance student ministry in the local church. More than 50,000 students and leaders attend at least one of CIY’s 95 programs held throughout 21 countries each year.

Christ in Youth partners with the local church to help call students to a maturing knowledge of Christ in preparation for Kingdom service.
