Lamar Swaney
Lamar Swaney, 83, of Rossville, Georgia, died in his home on December 23, 2013.
He was a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather who valued God and family above all. Lamar taught his family about the love of God and salvation through Christ.
Lamar was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Betty Anita Mullican Swaney, his loving parents; Dave and Hazel Swaney, brothers, Roy, Dennis, David, Darrell, Bobby, Kenneth Swaney and one much loved sister, Darlene Crowe.
His is survived by his loving family, daughters, Deborah Jean Swaney, Wanda Faye Swaney, Marsha (Paul) Davis, all of Rossville, daughter, Sandra Denise (Steve) Motley of Kensington, Ga., and one treasured son, David Lamar Swaney of Rossville. The joy of his years were his grandchildren, Steven L. (Tiffany) Motley, Ariel Motley, Jake Motley, Aubrey Davis, Gabriel Davis, Sapphira Davis and four great-grandchildren, Lanie, Channah and Allie Seiber and Kytilyn Elliott, brother, Eddie (Margaret) Swaney and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 27, at 11 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Reverend David Thompson and Reverend Paul Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Dec. 28, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
