Crime Stoppers: Counterfeiting And Identity Theft Suspect Sought

  • Wednesday, January 22, 2014

Crime Stoppers and the Collegedale Police Department are seeking information on the identification of a counterfeiting and identity theft suspect from several Chattanooga and Collegedale area businesses.

Besides the victim from whom a checkbook was stolen, businesses from the Murphy USA and Walmart in Collegedale to Chattanooga Big Lots and Academy Sports have been defrauded by what appears to be a middle-aged heavy-set white female with short cut grey hair.

While taken from a distance, surveillance video shows her driving two different vehicles: a grey or silver Jeep Patriot (with a handicap parking placard) and a light blue or grey Ford Windstar.

When the vehicle description is combined with the distinctive clothing and description of the suspect, Collegedale Police investigators believe someone out there may have some information about the identity of this thief, and a confidential call could make one eligible for a cash reward.

Anyone with information should call with their anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 423 698-3333.
