Larry Joe Cox, 61, of Soddy Daisy, died on Wednesday, August 13, 2014.
He was a native of Signal Mountain and lived in Soddy Daisy the last 10 years. Larry was a member of the Signal Mountain Church of God of Prophecy. He was employed in security with TVA at the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant. Larry loved restoring hot rods and motorcycles. Earlier in his life, he worked at Litespeed and at one time helped build a racing bicycle for Lance Armstrong.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Ray and Jeanette Cox and sister, Bertha Scoggins.
Survivors include his wife, Wynnelle Cox; step-son, Derrick (Jessica) Myers; stepdaughter, Angela Myers; brother, Ray Cox; sisters, Janet (Rev. Jay) Weatherford and Lynda Cox and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 16, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Jay Weatherford officiating. Burial will follow at Rankin Cemetery.
Visitation is on Friday, Aug. 15, from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
