Richard D. Diffee, 72, of Cleveland, TN, died on Thursday, September 25, 2014 in Chattanooga.

Richard was born in Norfolk, VA on March 15, 1942, to the late Loyz and Annabelle Jackson Diffee.  Richard was a member of St. Luke Episcopal Church of Cleveland, TN. He proudly served in the United States Navy, during the Vietnam War he served abroad the USS Intrepid off the Vietnam Coast.  Richard retired after a civilian life as a police officer.  Richard was a proud member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Diffee of Cleveland; daughters and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Billy Albert of Florida and Cathy Castiglia of New York; grandchildren, Lindsey Albert, William Albert, Claire Castiglia and Katie Mae Castiglia; aunt, Jean Patchsky of Florida; and special cousins, Linda and Douglas Dodd and Eddie Diffee.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Richard D. Diffee will be held Tuesday, September 30, at 1 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Father Joel Hufstetler officiating.  He will be laid to rest at the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery, Cohutta, GA. Pallbearers will be the members of the Blue Knights.

The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. Monday, September 29 and after 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 30 at the Ponders Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
