Billie Jo Hayes, 80, of Soddy Daisy, died on Monday, January 5, 2015.

She was a member of the Daisy Church of God where she served as a Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Hayes was the co-owner of Soddy Bible and Church Supplies for 27 years. She was a substitute teacher at Sequoyah High School and received the award for Substitute Teacher of the Year for all of Hamilton County. Billie Jo was known for her beautiful smile, her love for the Lord and her heart’s desire to find a need and fill it.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Asa Hayes and sisters, Shirley Coleman and Charlotte Reivley. 

Survivors include her son, Steven Hayes; daughters, Sharon King (Ronny) and Andrea Smith (Scott); sister, Norma Coffman; brother, Bishop Jackie Penney (Evelyn); grandchildren, Lauren Hayes, Danielle Rogers (Steven), Ethan King (Beth), Trinity Smith; great grandchildren, Trey Rogers; several nieces and nephews. 

Services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 10, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Bishop Jackie Penney officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is on Friday, Jan. 9, from 4-9 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of service. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association atwww.alz.org or the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home, 449 McCarn Circle, Sevierville, TN 37862.
