William Davis Hentz, 63, of Chickamauga, was arrested for misdemeanor theft.

In the incident on Thursday around 6 p.m., a store employee said she saw Hentz select four flash drives. She said he went to another area of the store, where he opened two of the packages and placed the drives in his pocket. She said he put the empty packages behind some chemicals in the plumbing section. She then called police.

LaFayette Police said when they arrived he had two unopened flash drive packages, and the two flash drives he had opened were in his clinched fist.

Police said Hentz had a wad of cash on him at the time.
