Group Has Petition Drive To Try To Save Old Birchwood School

  • Friday, July 24, 2015

A group has started a petition drive to try to save the old Birchwood School.

Jerry Wilson said, "The Birchwood community has just learned of the Hamilton County commission’s plans to demolish all, or part, of the historic Birchwood School.  This item is on the agenda for the July 29 commission meeting at 9:30 a.m.  Your attendance at this meeting would show the commission that the people want to save this building.  Our spokesperson will be Jason Wright.

"This school has been a valuable asset to the Birchwood community as a community center since the building became vacant as a result of the decision to bus the local Birchwood School students to other schools miles away.

"If you wish to sign the petition to save the building, please contact Jason Wright or Sylvia Beavers."
