Thomas H. Ozburn Appointed CEO Of Parkridge Health System

  • Thursday, December 15, 2016
Thomas H. Ozburn, CEO of TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center, an HCA facility in Nashville, has been named CEO of HCA’s five-hospital Parkridge Health System in Chattanooga, effective Feb. 1, 2017.

As CEO of Parkridge Health, Mr. Ozburn will also serve as CEO of Parkridge Medical Center and be responsible for operations at Parkridge West Hospital, Parkridge East Hospital, Parkridge Valley Adult and Senior Campus and Parkridge Valley Child and Adolescent Campus.

A native of Chattanooga, Mr.
Ozburn brings 16 years of executive healthcare leadership to his new role. Since joining TriStar Southern Hills in 2007, Mr. Ozburn’s focus on enhanced patient safety and improved patient outcomes led to the facility achieving Leap Frog Group Patient Safety “A” Rating in 2015 and 2016, and The Joint Commission's Top Performer on Key Quality Measures in 2014 and 2015. He oversaw increased patient demand for surgical and emergency services, expansion of inpatient rehabilitation and orthopedic services with the addition of a 20-bed boutique Joint and Spine Center, and enhanced access to healthcare services with the addition of two community-based medical health parks for provider and imaging services, officials said.

“Tom is a proven leader committed to providing communities with access to the services they need in the compassionate care environment they deserve,” said Heather Rohan, president of HCA’s TriStar Division, which includes Parkridge Health. “I am confident that he will continue to elevate Parkridge Health’s legacy and fulfill our commitment to providing superior patient care and service to the Chattanooga community.”

Prior to TriStar Southern Hills, Mr. Ozburn served as chief operating officer in TriStar Summit and TriStar Greenview medical centers, sister TriStar Health facilities in Hermitage, Tn., and Bowling Green, Ky., respectively, and worked in operations with HCA Physician Services Group. Active in the community, Mr. Ozburn served as a board member for organizations including Tennessee Hospital Association, Healthcare Executives Forum of Middle Tennessee, Nashville Zoo, Men of Valor, Tennessee Christian Chamber of Commerce, YMCA of Middle Tennessee, and Soles4Souls.

Mr. Ozburn holds a bachelor of science degree in health care management from The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, a master of health administration degree from The University of Memphis College of Health Sciences in Memphis, and a master of business administration degree from The University of Memphis, Fogelman College of Business and Economics, also in Memphis. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

“Having grown up on Signal Mountain, I am honored to be able to return home and work for such a fine healthcare system. I look forward to building upon the strong legacy of high quality healthcare that has been established by the team at Parkridge Health System,” said Mr. Ozburn.

Mr. Ozburn replaces current CEO Darrell Moore, who announced his Dec. 31 retirement earlier this year.
