Bicyclist Injured On East Main Street After Colliding With Pickup On Tuesday

A bicyclist was injured on Tuesday afternoon after colliding with a pickup on East Main Street.

 Chattanooga Police responded to the report of a motor vehicle crash involving a pickup truck and a cyclist near the 1900 block of East Main Street. 

The cyclist attempted to cross traffic between intersections and collided with the passenger side of a pickup truck. The cyclist was not wearing protective gear and sustained injuries in the crash. The cyclist was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital by HCEMS. The cyclist is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck, Robert Bowling, 58, remained at the scene and is cooperating with Chattanooga traffic investigators. The identity of the cyclist is being investigated by Chattanooga Police traffic investigators.

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423 698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
