Chattanooga’s Kaur Among Mercer University’s Inaugural Class Of Phi Beta Kappa Inductees

The Phi Beta Kappa Society installed its 285th chapter in its 240-year history at Mercer University on April 9. Following the installation ceremony, Jasbir Kaur of Chattanooga was one of 26 students in the College of Liberal Arts to be inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.

Kaur is a senior majoring in both biology and Latin with minors in art and chemistry.

Phi Beta Kappa inductees are usually seniors among the top 10 percent of their graduating class who have completed a broad range of liberal arts and sciences coursework, including foreign language study and mathematics.

Exceptional students meeting the Society’s requirements may also be considered as juniors.
