James Washington
James Howard Washington, 70, died on April 8, 2016 in a local health care facility.
He was a retired veteran of the US Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard June and Almanette Evelyn Washington; and her sister, Lillian Jiminez.
Survivors include his wife, Janie Washington of Chattanooga; children, Talitha Washington; Jamial , Alim, Toya, Raschida Washington, all of Detroit, MI; Tyrke, Orion, Nikka Washington, all of Florence, AL; step-children, Cedrick, Eric and Kim, all of Chattanooga; siblings, Ruby Providence of CA; Robert Washington and Elaine Jones of VA; Alexander Washington, Annette Grimes, Fredrick Washington, David Washington and Nicholas Washington of Detroit, MI; Phyllis Washington of Oak Park, MI and Felecia Harper of Eastpointe, MI; dear aunt, Delores Ray; niece, Taja; good friend, Toe Davis; caretakers, Misha and Torena.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 18, in the chapel with Reverend Melvin Tibbs officiating. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
