CHI Memorial Receives Vascular Testing Accreditation

  • Wednesday, June 29, 2016

CHI Memorial Chattanooga, CHI Memorial Hixson, CHI Memorial Outpatient Imaging in Cleveland and CHI Memorial Ooltewah Imaging Center have received vascular testing accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).

Vascular testing is an important tool used to help with early detection of cardiovascular diseases.  This non-invasive testing uses ultrasound to provide images of blood flow inside the veins and arteries.  More than 85 million Americans live with a form of cardiovascular disease or the after-effects of stroke, according to the American Heart Association (AHA).  It estimates about 2,200 Americans die each day from cardiovascular diseases - one person every 40 seconds.  These statistics show why early detection of cardiovascular diseases is so important.

Accreditation by the IAC means CHI Memorial has undergone a thorough review of its operational and technical components by a panel of experts. The IAC grants accreditation only to those facilities found to provide quality patient care, in compliance with national standards through a comprehensive application process including detailed case study review.

“As one of the southeast region’s leading heart centers, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality heart care and advancing the practice of cardiovascular medicine,” says Diona Brown, vice president, cardiovascular services at CHI Memorial.  “This accreditation confirms our commitment to provide the most advanced diagnostics so we can provide the right care at the right time.”

IAC accreditation is a “seal of approval” patients can rely on as an indication the facility has been carefully critiqued on all aspects of its operations considered relevant by medical experts in the field of Vascular Testing.  IAC accreditation is widely respected within the medical community, as illustrated by the support of the national medical societies related to Vascular Testing, which include physicians, technologists and sonographers.

CHI Memorial Outpatient Imaging in Cleveland and CHI Memorial Ooltewah Imaging Center have been granted a three-year term accreditation in Vascular Testing in the areas of Extracranial Cerebrovascular Testing, Peripheral Venous Testing and Peripheral Arterial Testing by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).

CHI Memorial Hospital Chattanooga and CHI Memorial Hospital Hixson have been granted a three-year term accreditation in Vascular Testing in the areas of Extracranial Cerebrovascular Testing, Peripheral Venous Testing, Peripheral Arterial Testing and Visceral Vascular Testing by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).
