Retired As Vice President At Olan Mills After 36 Years

Arlis Walker Lanford, 76, of Ooltewah, died on Thursday, August 17, 2017.

He was born Sept. 13, 1940, in Walnut Cove, N.C., to the late William C. and Bertha Lanford. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Martin Kent Eleazer.

Mr. Lanford was retired from Olan Mills after 36 years of service. He was the vice president of Church Marketing for the last 28 years.

Mr. Lanford enjoyed fishing especially deep sea fishing off the coast of Clearwater Beach, Florida and Charleston, South Carolina. He was an avid golfer.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mary Helen Lanford; son, Tony (Hannah) Lanford; daughters, Tammy Watson, and Lisa Eleazer; grandchildren, Benjamin Joel Eleazer, Cody Lee Watson, Keely Shaye Watson, Tyler Alan Parker, Mary Ellen Lanford, and Easton Walker Lanford; sisters, Shirley Hammond, and Carol Plotts.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 21, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Reverend Daniel Philpot officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday.
