Cleveland State Community College women's basketball team faced Wallace State Community College on Friday, losing by a score of 79-75.

Leading the Lady Cougars was Britnay Gore who posted 19 points, 13 rebounds and 2 blocks. Jordan Smith also had a nice game, scoring 18 points and 6 assists. Kayla Bennefield added 16 points to the mix while also snagging 11 rebounds.

It was a close fought battle between the two teams as it came down to last couple of possessions to decide a winner.

These two teams had matched up before this season, with Wallace State taking that one 114-60. The Lady Cougars were determined to change the script on Wallace State by splitting the season series.

The Lady Cougars did take the lead shortly after halftime, but Wallace State eventually took the lead back and ran with it, defeating Cleveland State by a score of 79-75.

This game rounds up 2018 for the Lady Cougars as they'll take a break for the holidays before returning on January 7th to face Massasoit Community College at home at 5:30 p.m.
