Pledger T. Burns, 91, of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday March 28, 2018, at a local health care facility.  

He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran.  He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.  Mr. Burns was retired from Magic Chef, and enjoyed UT Sports and spending time with friends and family. 

Mr. Burns was preceded in death by three sisters, Agatha Burns, Florine B. Jones, both of Oak Ridge, and Janet Johnson of Cleveland; three brothers Robert Burns, of Cleveland, Billy Burns of Chattanooga, and Jack Burns of Cleveland; his mother, Grace Lee Tallent of Ooltewah and father, William Burns of Cleveland.

He is survived by his daughter, Eyvonne Burns of Cleveland, granddaughters, Monica Westfield and Ashia Webb both of Cleveland; as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends. 

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 2, at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m., with the funeral taking place on Tuesday, April 3, at 11 a.m., with burial at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, with full military honors.
