Brooklyn Tabernacle Singers
Lee University will welcome the Brooklyn Tabernacle Singers to the Conn Center stage on Thursday, April 12, at 7 p.m.
The Brooklyn Tabernacle Singers, which frequently travels for international and domestic performances, is made up of a core group of vocalists from the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, both directed by Carol Cymbala.
The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir is an award-winning choir based out of Brooklyn, N.Y.
The choir was founded in the 1970’s with just nine people. Since then the choir has grown to be a vital part of the worship services at the Tabernacle, as well as for the New York community.
The choir has performed at Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, and the Madison Square Garden Theater and has also sung at the 2012 Presidential Inauguration.
“I just want to see people drawn to Jesus Christ,” said Ms. Cymbala. “I want the music to be the arrow that points them to Him.”
The choir has recorded numerous albums and won five Dove awards and six Grammy awards.
Lee alumnus, Bradley Knight, currently serves as a music director at the Brooklyn Tabernacle.
This event is free, non-ticketed, and open to the public. Doors open at 6 p.m., and seating is first come, first served.
