Cleveland State's Golf program has added two new golfers to its roster in Jared Thomas and Colby Cagle.

Thomas, an alumnus of Hixson High School, has decided to join the Cougars to play golf. Thomas was the first week best of prep award recipient in the Chattanooga area. On why Thomas wanted to golf here at Cleveland State he responded, "When I heard about the new golf program here at Cleveland State, I knew I needed to try to go for it." Thomas continued, "I've been playing golf since I was little and I started to realized I could do something with it once I started to win a couple of tournaments at the high school level.

Cleveland State is now giving me the chance to compete at the next level and I'm very grateful for that."

Colby Cagle has also chosen to sign with Cleveland State for golf. Cagle played at Greenback High School and made an appearance in the State tournament after winning the District Championship. Cagle commented, "I love the small college atmosphere and I love the fact that my family can come watch me play, plus the coaching staff here is phenomenal; these were big reasons on why I wanted to play here at Cleveland State. Colby has also been playing golf for as long as he can remember, pointing to the time when his mother started up the golf program for Greenback Middle School as a big reason as to where his passion for golf comes from. "I'm proud to be accepted at Cleveland State and I'll try my best to work hard and help push this program to new heights," said Colby.
