Lifelong Chattanoogan Had Long Career In Interior Design

Susan Weir Chaffin, 61, of Hixson, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 3, 2018, surrounded by family.

She is survived by her daughters, Bethany Chaffin and Amanda Chaffin Carleo (Duane); one granddaughter; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Jeffery Chaffin; father, Colville C. Weir; mother, Alta Jean Weir; and brother, Robert Weir.

Susan was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, and was a graduate of Red Bank High School and UTC. She was retired from a long career in interior design, and was a devoted member of Lupton Drive Baptist Church.

Susan’s family would like to thank Morning Pointe, Preferred Care, Avalon Hospice, and friends and extended family for their care and support.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 6, from 1-3 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel.

Funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Randy Bell officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
