Praters And The Bethlehem Center To Break Ground On New Gym Floor

  • Friday, May 4, 2018

Praters has committed to help the Bethlehem Center by re-designing the gym for a new sports program.

When the Bethlehem Center brought on Demetrius Morgan, former Cleveland State Community College and Lee University basketball player, to the Center to start a sports program, the program quickly grew.

“I am so excited about the work that Demetrius is doing that I can't help but tell everyone about it,” said Reginald F. Smith, II, executive director of the Bethlehem Center. “Apparently others are too because Praters donated a floor re-design that has made our kids so excited. It’s almost like they look at the gym in awe.”

Since coming on board in January, Mr. Morgan has secured his first tournament win for the Center's middle school basketball team, the Transformers, and is now starting a three and four year-old basketball league.

An official groundbreaking of the gym floor will take place on May 15 at 5 p.m. at the Bethlehem Center at 200 W 38th St. The event is open to the public and individuals can come learn more about the Bethlehem Center and register for sports and summer programs.
