Dr. Jimmy L. Waldrop has been elected as member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS).

"The ASAPS is a selective, highly-qualified group of aesthetic plastic surgeons with a mission to advance the science, art and safe practice of aesthetic plastic surgery among qualified, board-certified plastic surgeons," officials said. "The group is at the forefront of innovation in aesthetic plastic surgery around the world." Currently, there are 48 members of the society within the region and only four in the Chattanooga area, counting Dr. Waldrop and Dr. Mark Brzezienski of the Plastic Surgery Group.

“We’re proud that our colleague has been elected to this prestigious organization,” said Plastic Surgery Group Managing Partner Dr. Jason Rehm. “Dr. Waldrop is recognized by so many throughout the region for his skill and expertise; it’s an honor to have another member of our team elected to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.”

Dr. Waldrop is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Honor Medical Society.  He completed general surgery residency and a surgical critical care/trauma fellowship at The University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga. While there, he also completed a comprehensive plastic and reconstructive surgery residency.

Dr. Waldrop is director of research and assistant professor in the department of plastic surgery at The University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga and actively trains plastic surgery residents.  His practice includes cosmetic surgery of the breast, abdomen and face; specifically, breast augmentation, lift, reduction, tummy tuck, liposuction face lift, eyelid surgery and rhinoplasty.

"In addition, Dr. Waldrop is the first and only surgeon in the Chattanooga area to perform revolutionary migraine surgery to provide long-term migraine headache relief.  He also has special interest in treatment of facial and mandible fractures and skin cancer," officials said.
