Fighter Pilot During The Korean War

Ralph Murphey, 88, of Chattanooga, died peacefully at home on Oct. 4, 2019.

He was born February 12, 1931, in Shreveport, La.

He is survived by a son, sister, two granddaughters, and multiple cousins.

He attended Georgia Institute of Technology with a concentration in electrical engineering. He achieved the rank of Captain in the United States Air Force and served with honor as a fighter pilot in the Korean War, earning several medals and commendations.

Military funeral services and interment will be on Friday,Oct. 11 at 11 a.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Min. Kenneth Chambers officiating.

Arrangements are entrusted to Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, Tn. 37415.
