After a beautiful and joyous life of 97 years, the Lord welcomed Nannie B. Gamble home on Thursday, October 31, 2019.
Nannie was born and grew up in Smithville, TN. Seventy-five years ago Nannie moved to South Pittsburg, TN to make a new home along with her husband, Carl Gamble. They raised their beautiful family along with making wonderful friends in this area. She was a loving, kind spirit, giving, compassionate and most of all a lady that made a difference in anyone’s life that she met. She loved her Lord and Savior and grew each day in her Presbyterian faith. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Richard City, TN.
Nannie was employed as the cafeteria cook at South Pittsburg Elementary School for over 15 years until she retired. She was known for her talented works with her hands in cooking, canning and embroidering, Nannie loved her family however her grandchildren gave her the completeness in giving the love and care that filled her heart. She loved all flowers however roses were the favorite twinkle in her eyes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Gamble; parents, Tom and America Luna; son, Bobby Gamble; brothers, Elijah Luna, Herb Luna and Zeb Luna; sisters, Jessie Knowles, Grace Evans and Mary Pinegar; and son-in-laws, Rick Chapman and Paul Henegar, Jr.
To cherish Nannie’s memories are her daughters, Kay Henegar and Doris Chapman; four grandchildren, Carol Newsom (Charles), Kevin Chapman (Jessica), Kelly O’Shield (John Jordan), and Jennifer Keys (Caleb); nine great-grandchildren, Dakota Castle, Dylan Castle, Kasey O’Shield, Kennedy Chapman, Kayleigh Chapman, Kambrey Chapman, Hayden Hayes, Madisyn York and Peyton Keys; special niece, Linda Huckabee along with other nieces and nephews.
The family will have visitation on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm CDT and Sunday, November 3, 2019 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm CDT at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee.
The funeral service will be held in the chapel of Tate Funeral Home on Sunday, Nov. 3, at 2:00 pm CDT with Brother Ronnie Case officiating.
Nannie will be laid to rest at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens immediately following her funeral service.
