New Traffic Pattern From West MLK Boulevard To U.S. 27 South Begins Monday

  • Friday, November 15, 2019

As U.S. 27 widening through downtown Chattanooga progresses, the contractor will implement a new traffic pattern that will affect access from West MLK Boulevard to U.S. 27 South.

Beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, the contractor will shift traffic and open a newly-constructed ramp from West MLK Boulevard to U.S. 27 South. After the ramp is opened, traffic wishing to access U.S. 27 South from West MLK Boulevard must take a left turn onto the new ramp. Traffic signals will be in place to allow traffic from West MLK Boulevard to access the new ramp. This new traffic pattern will be in place by afternoon rush hour on Monday.

The loop ramp currently in use from West MLK Boulevard to U.S. 27 South will be permanently closed after the newly-constructed ramp is opened to traffic. All other traffic movements in the work zone will remain the same.

Motorists are urged to use caution and pay close attention to signage in the work zone.

This work is weather dependent. Should inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances delay this work, it will be rescheduled to take place at a later date.
