Burglar Apparently Takes His Own Life As Bradley County Resident Arrives Home

  • Monday, December 2, 2019

The Bradley County Sheriff's Office said a burglar who was caught in a residence when the homeowner arrived home apparently took his own life.

On Friday, deputies arrived at a residence on Ramsey Bridge Road in response to a DOA reported by the homeowner. The homeowner found the body in a closet of a rarely used spare bedroom.

The Sheriff's Office said, "Based on the evidence at the scene, this DOA appears to have been an apparent suicide that was related to a previous burglary case at the same residence. More information on this portion of the case is pending further investigation and autopsy report.

"During the investigation, detectives identified Sarah Clowers as one of the two suspects of the burglary. Investigation revealed that Ms. Clowers was inside the residence with a male accomplice at the time of the homeowner's return.

"It is believed that Ms. Clowers exited the residence without being detected; the male did not make an effort to exit the residence."

Ms. Clowers was arrested Monday on warrants of aggravated burglary and theft under $1,000.

BCSO authorities have remained in contact with the district attorney’s office and are awaiting the official autopsy results for further investigation.
