County Commission To Begin Taking Applications For Judge Shattuck Post On Friday

The County Commission will begin to take applications for an open judgeship in General Sessions Court on Friday. Judge Clarence Shattuck is retiring effective April 1.

Applications will be taken in the County Commission office through the following Friday at noon.

The public is also able to make nominations.

The commission will interview the candidates on Wednesday, March 20, at 1 p.m.

The appointment is slated to be made at the regular commission meeting on Wednesday, March 27.

The new judge will be sworn in on Monday, April 1.

That judge will serve until the August 2020 county general election.

The winner of the judgeship in the election will serve the remainder of Judge Shattuck's term until the August 2022 election.
