Leroy Leath, Jr., entered the holy gates of heaven on April 29, 2019.

He was born March 17, 1948, to the late Leroy and Elizabeth Leath in Knoxville. He was a member of Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church. In 1967 Leroy graduated from Riverside High School where he was in the Trojan Marching Band and a member of the Dukes Social Club. Leroy was also in the United States Army, ranked as a Sergeant and was a Vietnam Veteran. Leroy was co-owner of Leath Flower Shop & Leath Cafeteria. He was employed at Floral Gallery and Chattanooga News Free Press.

He was greeted by his parents, the late Leroy and Elizabeth Leath, sisters, Pauline Leath Johnson and Rose Kern Leath and brother, James Gordon Leath.

Leroy leaves to cherish his memories his devoted, dedicated and loving wife of 40 years, Sharon Neal Leath, daughter, Ashlee Harriett Elizabeth Leath (DJ) of Charlotte, NC, son, Leroy Leath III.  Other loving family one sister Anita Leath Jones, four brothers John (Paula) Leath of Germantown, TN, Randall (Shelia), Michael (Donna), and David Leath all of Chattanooga; sisters-in-law, Lisa Neal, Shavaughn Banks (Rufus), Chastity Maxwell (Shown), Robin Liles (Lee), brother-in-law, Cory Neal (Rhonda); and 10 nephews, 11 nieces, and several great-nephews, nieces, cousins and friends; devoted and loving cousins, James Tatum, Claudie Clark and Bill Clark.

The body will lie in state from 12–8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, at the funeral home. 

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, at Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. at Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 8, followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m.
