Dewey Mae “Jerry” Moore Hanning
Dewey Mae “Jerry” Moore Hanning of Harrison, Tn., born February 27, 1928 in Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away August 9, 2019 at the age of 91.
She was the daughter of the late Albert Lee Moore and Blanche Edith Bright Moore and a 1946 graduate of Tyner High School. She was a longtime member of Lakewood Baptist Church in Harrison, Tennessee and in the Friendship Sunday School Class. She was a 25-year employee of the Hamilton County Board of Education, working in the cafeteria at Central High School. She loved the beauty of nature, especially flowers, and enjoyed gardening in her flower beds.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert “Bud” Hanning, daughter, Sandra Carol Hanning, brothers, Clarence Moore, Troy Moore and Charles Moore, and sister, Anna Lea Hise.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Wayne) Oliver, son, Steven (Dana) Hanning, daughter, Cheryl Hanning, all of Harrison, Tennessee. A proud grandmother to her grandson, Jamie Oliver of Harrison, Tn., and granddaughter, Faith Hanning of Boulder, Colorado, two sisters, Barbara Louise Picklesimer of Harrison and Johnnie Sue Van Gelderen of Chattanooga, Tennessee and many beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 11, 2019 from 2-6 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel and again on Monday, August 12, 2019 from 12-2 p.m.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 12, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Dr. David Bragg and Pastor Ronnie Gilbert officiating. Burial to follow at Harrison Cemetery.
