Firefighters Battle Brush Fire On Signal Mountain Wednesday Afternoon

A brush fire at 500 North Palisades on Signal Mountain made firefighting a challenge Wednesday afternoon. 

The Signal Mountain Fire Department, Walden’s Ridge Emergency Services (WRES)  and Chattanooga Fire Department Quint 17 stood by at Signal Mountain FD Station 1.

Signal Mountain Fire Chief Eric Mitchell, reported firefighters fought fire from above and below the brush fire. Those firefighters extinguishing the fire above them were tied off with safety ropes.

There was no structure endangerment, and no injuries were reported.

The cause of how the fire started is undetermined.
