Chattanooga Chamber’s East Brainerd Council Has Supply Drive For East Brainerd Elementary

  • Saturday, October 24, 2020

The East Brainerd Council of the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce collects donations to assist teachers in recouping supplies they personally provided in their classrooms, which were lost in April’s tornado.

“Teaching truly is a work of heart,” said Amber Fortenberry, vice president of Communications for the East Brainerd Council. “Teachers are heroes who give of their time, money, heart and soul. What the EBE teachers have gone through is devastating. We have made it our goal to try and give back to them some of what they have lost.”

Individuals may drop off donations at two locations: Keller Williams Greater Chattanooga Realty on Lee Highway or Southern Heritage Bank on Hamilton Place Boulevard, between 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. An East Brainerd Elementary Supply Drive wish list is also available on Amazon. Donations are delivered free with Amazon Prime.

The East Brainerd Council will collect donations through Dec. 4, to be presented to the school prior to East Brainerd Elementary's January reopening.

Necessary items include school supplies, educational games and books (K-5), non-perishable snacks and disinfecting supplies.

The East Brainerd Council 's mission is to champion Chamber member businesses and implement a comprehensive strategy to promote economic growth within the East Brainerd footprint. Learn more at facebook.com/EastBrainerdChamber
