Applause to Mezcla Cocina Y Cantina! I've not visited but you can bet your last dollar I will after reading Jay Prater's review. I love Mexican and who isn't thrilled with that kind of long gone honesty! Gonna check it out, I am!
I would like to add, however, that there is another place in town that acts the same way. Honesty beyond all reasonable reason, honesty. One of the folks I love and care very much for worked his tail off all week and come payday, he cashed his check in its entirety and stuck it in his wallet. Then, coming back home after hangin' with his chums on a Friday night, he pulled into Midnight Oil at the foot of Signal to gas up his truck. Midnight Oil has high-test no-ethanol gas that is, really, the only thing older rigs run properly on. My boy walked in, plopped his wallet on the counter, handed the cashier a twenty, gassed his truck, went home, went to bed. No wallet.
It had about $1,300 in it as I recall being told. My boy bolted back down there the next morning knowing full well just how toasted his next week would be. I was sure it was gone. "Have you seen a wall....." was about as much as he got out of his mouth before the guy (he remembered him from the night before) produced a thoroughly unmolested in any way billfold. Not a scintilla of cold cash missing. It didn't even look like it had been opened- nothing messed with. All he had to say was "No sir, never saw it." and he would have been believed by everybody.
So, I ask all to please patronize Mezcla Y Cantina (I like the Cantina part) in North Chatt and Midnight Oil just past the Wally going toward Signal. And report similar experiences! I think if we give great folks like this a little Darwin survival help, maybe the world could wind up being populated by sweet people again!
