Kenneth R. Stephens, age 84, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Friday, December 18, 2020 in the Ben Atchley Veterans Home in Knoxville.

Mr. Stephens was born in Chattanooga and he was the son of the late Velma Mitchell and his step-dad, Charlie Mitchell. He was a 1954 graduate of Bradley Central High School. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He worked as a computer operator for HUD, (Housing of Urban Development) in Nashville and Knoxville. Mr. Stephens enjoyed the outdoors including gardening and working in his yard. He also enjoyed working on different projects. He was known for his sense of humor. Mr. Stephens was a member of the Waterville Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Linda Franks Stephens; son, Kevin Stephens and his wife Tammy; daughter, Jill Rymer and her husband John; grandchildren, Whitney Hall, Dakota Ware, David Hawkins and his wife Tiffany, Karra Stephens, Priscilla Stephens and Jordan Stephens; great-grandchildren, Kyrie Morris, Nathan Hawkins, Alaina and Eli Ware; three step-grandchildren, Josh Bird, Cherish Bird and John Alan Rymer; niece, Shanin Peterson and nephew, David Pigg also survive.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted on Thursday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m. at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel with Reverend Joe Brooks officiating. Graveside services will be held private for the family at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
