William H. "Mike" McAfee passed peacefully at home with family on Sunday, February 9, 2020.

He fought hard against Parkinson’s and other declining health issues as he did everything in life. Michael loved God, his family and friends and attended Wesley Memorial Methodist Church. He graduated from City High School class of 1959. Mike served honorably in the United States Army and was retired from Delta Airlines. His passion was sports, especially handball and golf and he was nicknamed “sweet feet” by his handball buddies.

Mike is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Jo; son, Chance McAfee; daughter, Niccole (Joseph) Kohlmann; and his grandchildren, Jordan McAfee and Korbin and Aiden Kohlmann.

Special thanks to Melissa Mullins, his caregiver, for the love and tender care she gave “Mikey” and also to Amedisys Hospice.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Reverend Clair Sauer officiating. The family will receive friends from 12–1 p.m. on Friday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church 6314 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421, or to the Parkinson’s Foundation 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
