2 People Killed In Late-Night Crash On South Moore Road

A head-on crash on South Moore Road late Thursday night resulted in both drivers being killed.

One victim was a man, 27, and the other was a woman, 49.

A male passenger, 23, in one of the vehicles was injured.

At approximately 11:22 p.m., the Chattanooga Police Department's Traffic/DUI Unit responded to 100 South Moore Road on a two-vehicle traffic crash.

Police said a Chrysler 200 S driven by the 27-year-old man crossed into the northbound lane as it was traveling south on South Moore Road.

At the same time, a Kia Soul driven by the 49-year-old woman was traveling north on South Moore Road and it was struck by the Chrysler.

Both drivers were taken to a hospital by Hamilton County EMS where they were declared deceased.

The male passenger in the Chrysler was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
